Breathing Clean: Empowering Haze Protection with 3M N95 Masks and Air Purifiers

According to CNA (2023),  the government’s Inter-Agency Haze Task Force (HTF) is coordinating action plans in preparation for possible haze, the Meteorological Service Singapore (Met Service) said on Tuesday (May 30).

From June to October 2023, Singapore and the surrounding region anticipate experiencing warmer and drier weather due to both climate phenomena. Consequently, there will be an elevated possibility of transboundary haze affecting Singapore and the neighboring areas.

As the temperature rises and the climate becomes warmer, health authorities are urging members of the public to take necessary precautions. With rising concerns on haze, individuals are advised to have an adequate supply of N95 face masks readily available. These masks offer a high level of protection against airborne particles, ensuring both comfort and safety. Additionally, it is recommended to check and maintain air purifiers to guarantee their optimal functioning.

As a result, Singapore faces an elevated risk of experiencing haze episodes, which can have adverse effects on air quality and public health. Efforts to monitor and manage these risks, along with regional cooperation, are crucial in mitigating the impacts of transboundary haze during El Niño periods.

With increasing temperatures and warmer climates, necessary precautions such as having N95 masks are necessary for the safety of individuals. Air purifiers also contribute significantly to maintaining the health and safety of citizens.
